Well, how about that!

Yesterday I mentioned that my art supplies arrived damaged, and I was dreading dealing with claims and replacement time and cost.  Check this out.  ASWexpress.com rocks.  I emailed them, and also called and left a message.  This morning, I received this reply:

We apologize that the item(s) came to you in a damaged state and we will be sending replacements out to you. I have made note to ask the warehouse to pack this shipment better.
As far as the damaged items you received we do not need those items back from you. Please either donate the products to a school or church (if possible) or throw them away if they cannot be used at all.
This is the meat of the email.  Can you believe it?  And their prices are better than I've found anywhere, PLUS they do $6.95 shipping anywhere in the continental US!  All my artist readers, TAKE NOTE!

I have a lifelong friend, MikeyMikeyMotorcycky (who shall henceforth be referred to as MMM), who is in the graphics and printing industry, down in L.A. (Panther Graphics ).   We trade work back and forth from time to time.  A month or so ago, he asked me to take over a logo design job that he was doing as a goodwill effort for a long-time client.  I wrote to the client, but didn't hear back until yesterday.  Now that I've got a pretty full plate, that is!  Ah well.  It's an interesting challenge, as logos always are, to distill the personality of the client, person and company, into an image that will be readable when reduced to 1 color and maybe 3/4 of an inch in size.  This woman is a doula, which means she helps out new moms, shepherding them through birth and into the new baby's toddlerhood.  I'll show you what we come up with as it develops.

Now, last but not least, I just have to show you this little guy.  A friend of mine decided to adopt a greyhound, wanted me to go look at her picture, but I couldn't find it.  On my ramble through adoptable dogs in the general area, I ran across Murphy Burger , the 5 lb poodle.

Oh help.  Someone, please tell me you can't resist this dog, and are going to go get him right now.  Please!  He was found as a stray, with a skin condition which is getting better.  He's smaller than my smallest cat!  *sigh*

Okay, that's it.  I have work to do!  Have a great day, y'all!

  3. Sigh, can you stop posting little fluffy dogs, if not I am forced to throw you out of my list of favorites ;-)

That is a perfect response from a company that cares about its costumers.

  4. Houndstooth, no kidding! I keep going to look ....

Mom, PJ didn't actually do the training, or not all of it. When I mentioned this to her, she kind of "tch-t"ed. Can you imagine? Too messy for her!

    *waving* Hi, Peej! :D

Petra, I'm so sorry! ;) Please don't toss me out because of our shared loooove for dogs!
